From Hardware to Software: Our Story
Eco Balkan actually started out as a recycling business. Our approach for Electronic Waste Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle would prove to be more transferable than expected. When the pandemic hit, and the world moved online, we decided it was time to pivot. We swapped hardware for software, and today we apply a very similar approach to the websites we build.
German Precision, Local Heart
When I moved from Germany to BiH, I brought a bit of that famous German obsession with precision along with me. We firmly believe you shouldn’t need a massive corporate budget in Berlin or Sarajevo just to get a website that is fast, secure, and actually works. We handle all the nerdy, behind-the-scenes technical details. Like making sure your servers are lightning-fast and your data is completely safe.
Why the “Eco” Still Matters
Even though we build websites now, we kept the “Eco” in our name for a reason. In the tech world, being sustainable means three things to us:
- REDUCE – No Digital Clutter: We write clean, efficient code. If a flashy feature doesn’t actually help your business grow, we don’t add it. This keeps your site incredibly fast and much easier to manage.
- REUSE – Built to Last: We don’t do “disposable” websites. Instead of locking you into a platform where you essentially have to rent your own site forever, we build on open-source foundations. You get a digital home that you actually own, designed to stick around for the long haul.
- RECYCLE – The Ai: We teach you how to customise and expand assets we create for your website. With today’s AI, it has become incredibly easy to build from scratch what used to be a Plug-In that you would maybe even have to pay for. Like this video in the Background, it is still free of plug-ins, 90% native to the WordPress Gutenberg editor, and for the remaining 10%, you will have an already customised asset library from us that is easy to use or even upgrade yourself.
